Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Pharmacy Department Head to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our pharmacy department, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, and promoting excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with national standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and manage a team of pharmacists and technicians to ensure efficient and effective operation of the pharmacy.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of pharmacy services into patient care.
  • Monitor and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement, implementing changes as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as pharmaceutical companies and suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Current license to practice pharmacy in West Virginia or be license eligible.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or related field.
  • Board certification in a clinical pharmacy specialty.
  • Experience with pharmacy informatics and technology systems.
