Mammography Technologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. As a Mammography Technologist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality mammographic images for screening and/or diagnosis, invasive breast procedures, and DEXA exams for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform screening and/or diagnostic mammograms and bone densitometry exams
• Assist radiologists with invasive breast procedures
• Review images for quality and tissue acquisition
• Explain procedures to patients and obtain patient history relevant to the exam
• Communicate results to patients as requested by radiologists
• Collaborate with scheduling and registration to ensure accurate physician orders
• Engage with Breast Imaging Navigators to assist with patient needs and appointments
• Perform general equipment assessments and report any issues to the Breast Imaging Department

Requirements

• Associate's Degree from an approved AMA School of Radiologic Technology
• Documented 40 hours of training specific to mammography as required by the FDA
• Documented 8 hours of training in each mammography modality to be used to perform exams as required by the FDA
• Documented performance of 200 mammogram exams in the last two years as required by the FDA
• Documented 15 hours of continuing education over three consecutive years as required by the FDA
• ARRT registry in Radiography with registry or registry-eligible status in Mammography
• South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association Licenses
• Current Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) provider
