Job Summary:
The Paramedic is a vital member of the Emergency Department patient care team at Christus Health. As a certified and/or licensed paramedic, you will work collaboratively with nursing staff to provide exceptional patient care. Under the direct clinical supervision of a licensed physician, you will provide assistance and perform procedures, including advanced life support, medication administration, and patient evaluation. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate patient monitoring equipment, record vital signs, and perform procedures as delegated by the licensed physician.
- Collect laboratory specimens, perform phlebotomy, and insert medical devices under the direction of the licensed physician.
- Assist in patient care, obtain and document vital signs, and maintain clear communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, manage supplies and equipment, and transport patients to radiology and nursing units as needed.
- Demonstrate proficiency in setting up and performing procedures as delegated.
- Comply with the Hospital's defined job description and competencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education/Skills:
- High School Diploma
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
- DL in state of employment
- EMT P License in state of employment
- BLS
