OVERVIEW

The ICE Health Services Corps (IHSC) plays a crucial role within the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), delivering essential healthcare services to individuals in custody under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver comprehensive healthcare services as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
  • Administer medications and treatments, perform health screenings, and respond effectively to medical emergencies.

EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of an accredited Vocational/Practical Nurse program.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical or healthcare environment.

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION

  • Current LVN/LPN licensure is mandatory.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

PROFESSIONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

WORK SCHEDULE AND ON-CALL REQUIREMENTS

Availability for various shifts, including day, evening, and night; weekend and holiday work may be necessary.

SECURITY CLEARANCE

Must fulfill specific security clearance criteria established by the Department of Homeland Security.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical stamina may be necessary to respond promptly to medical emergencies.
