The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and empathetic Assistant Surgical Coordinator to join our team. As an Assistant Surgical Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients' surgeries are authorized and that records are complete and accurate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain authorizations and pre-certifications to expedite reimbursement
  • Contact insurance companies via telephone, facsimile, and computer
  • Maintain current knowledge of insurance company requirements, medical terminology, and diagnosis and procedure codes
  • Verify patient information and obtain any missing information
  • Review records and physician forms for completeness
  • Coordinate surgery-related paperwork and authorization information with the appropriate ASC or Hospital, and the Central Business Office
  • Communicate with all involved parties regarding unusual circumstances involving patient insurance benefits, coverages, or requirements
  • Cross-train into other areas, including front desk and serve as primary back-up for Surgical Coordinator
