About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Speech Therapy Assistant to work under the guidance of our Area Speech Language Pathologist in providing high-quality speech therapy services across multiple Spectrum School locations within an assigned region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for evaluating students, developing individualized therapy programs, monitoring progress, and collaborating with educational teams to enhance students' communication skills and overall development.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating students to determine speech therapy needs and levels of service.
- Providing assistance to the SLP during assessments, including documentation, preparing materials, and clinical duties.
- Conducting speech-language screening using protocols developed by the Area SLP.
- Providing direct speech and language therapy assistance to students under the direction of the Area SLP, employing evidence-based strategies and techniques.
- Following and implementing documented treatment plans and protocols developed by the Area SLP.
- Documenting therapy sessions and progress notes accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with Spectrum policies and state regulations.
- Maintaining detailed case records according to Spectrum policy and state regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in speech pathology or a closely related field, as well as hold a valid state speech language pathology assistant (SLPA) certification. Prior experience in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with autism-related disabilities and emotional disturbance, is highly desirable. You should also have advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Estimated Salary
The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on location and experience. This compensation package reflects the company's commitment to attracting and retaining top talent while also considering market standards.
