Job Overview: The AI, Learning and Intelligent Systems Group at Penn Foster is seeking a talented Postdoctoral Researcher to advance generative AI methodologies for modeling energy systems and community infrastructure. This role aims to support communities in their journey towards sustainable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop innovative generative AI frameworks for modeling community energy infrastructure, including buildings and transportation systems.
• Train AI models and generate simulations of extreme environmental events.
• Utilize physics-informed and multi-modal learning techniques to tackle challenges associated with limited data.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of researchers across various disciplines, including computational science, energy analysis, and community engagement.
• Contribute to the creation of technical documentation, research papers, and presentations on data-driven approaches to energy modeling.
• Maintain and enhance open-source software tools relevant to the project.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

• Recent PhD graduate within the last three years.
• Strong foundation in coding, particularly in Python.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in data-driven modeling and machine learning.
• Experience with computational modeling of energy systems, including renewable generation and power systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with EnergyPlus or Ochre building modeling software.
• Experience with optimal power flow solvers.
• Knowledge of advanced language models and physics-informed machine learning techniques.

Salary Range: $71,300 - $117,600
