Key Responsibilities:

The licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will assess, organize, and deliver medically prescribed speech therapy to pediatric patients in a home health environment.

The SLP will guide the patient and their caregiver in specific tasks to reinforce and enhance therapeutic outcomes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Providing clinical treatment to patients, including screenings, evaluations, direct therapy, and training for families/caregivers.
  • Conducting evaluations with a focus on receptive and expressive language skills, speech fluency, vocal and oral motor skills, articulation, and auditory processing.
  • Coordinating patient care with office personnel and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintaining effective communication with pediatric patients and their families regarding progress, challenges, home programs, and other relevant therapeutic matters.
  • Referring patients and families to appropriate services, including other professionals and resources as necessary.
  • Consulting with physicians on patient progress and maintaining accurate records.
  • Managing supplies and equipment.
  • Participating in public education events, including in-service training.
  • Engaging in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
  • Attending Continuing Education activities to expand service capabilities.
  • Maintaining an adequate caseload with appropriate productivity levels.
  • Collaborating with colleagues through knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Mentoring students and new hires.
  • Actively participating in professional organizations and activities.
  • Exercising initiative and independent judgment in all job responsibilities.
  • Providing backup support for other caseloads as needed.
  • Adhering to all company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience Requirements include:
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current state-issued professional licensure.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • CPR certification.
  • Pediatric clinical experience is preferred.
  • Home health experience is preferred.

Other Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to read and write in simple correspondence and effectively communicate in small groups.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and solve practical problems with various concrete variables.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, record keeping, and routine database management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Demands/Working Environment:
The role involves spending one-third to two-thirds of the time standing, walking, reaching, sitting, kneeling, and crawling. Over two-thirds of the time is spent using hands and fingers, including handling, feeling, talking, and hearing. The work environment includes diverse indoor residential or childcare settings with moderate physical activity. Candidates must be able to lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision. The noise level is moderate, typical of a business office with computers, phones, and printers.
