About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work with our team of experts in building automation, fire safety, and security systems. As a Fire Installation Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting in the installation, testing, and maintenance of electronic systems, including fire alarm and suppression systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation of electronic systems, including start-up through final testing.
- Follow verbal and written instructions, read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
- Carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high-lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with SimplexGrinnell work.
- Wear appropriate safety equipment as required, including but not limited to hard hats and work boots.
- May be required to work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer installation requirements.
Requirements
- 2 years of Fire Alarm and/or Security System experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Follow verbal and written instructions, read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
- Construction experience required.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Successful completion of drug screen and background check.
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 pounds.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high-lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an electrical trade preferred.
- Low voltage experience is a plus.
