Job Summary

Artemis Professionals, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, as well as providing financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Cash Flow Statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger by performing monthly account reconciliations and reviewing journal entries.
  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of accruals, prepaids, and adjusting journal entries.
  • Audit Support: Assist in external audits by providing required documentation and explanations to auditors. Ensure all records are accurate and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to prepare annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts. Monitor and analyze budget vs. actual results.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure timely filing of tax returns (sales & use tax, property tax, income tax) and compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Fixed Asset Management: Track and manage fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation schedules, and asset disposal in accordance with company policy and tax regulations.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting, including adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight: Review accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with financial policies.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide detailed financial analysis on trends, forecasts, and key metrics to support strategic decision-making by senior management.
  • ERP Systems & Process Improvements: Manage accounting software and ERP systems, identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation to increase efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle) and ERP systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including data analysis tools (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Experience with audit and tax compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
