Job Overview

We are seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator to provide dedicated EHS support to our operations. This role will ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulatory standards while fostering a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support management in accident response efforts.
  • Assist in conducting root cause analyses and investigations.
  • Ensure team members have access to necessary safety and environmental supplies, including personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Verify that contractor personnel adhere to company EHS policies and safety standards.
  • Maintain specific EHS procedures for safe work practices and equipment usage.
  • Collaborate with the EHS Manager to oversee and assist with internal and external audits or inspections.
  • Participate in shift safety meetings and contribute to presentations.
  • Support the EHS Engineer with daily inspections and inventory of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Assist in managing environmental and safety documentation and permits on-site.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to wear task-specific personal protective equipment, which may include dust masks, respirators, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
  • Meet OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines: < 50 lbs.
  • Perform duties that require standing, walking, and using hands to operate tools or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch as necessary.
  • Capability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and temperatures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science-related field or EHS discipline.
  • Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in facility safety, including Hazard Communication, SDS compliance, and chemical management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to wear a respirator and other necessary PPE.
  • Capability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Preferred certifications: RCRA, DOT, HAZWOPER (24-hour minimum), First Aid/CPR/AED.
