Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Greet and thank customers, answer or refer questions and respond to customer requests as needed, bring customers to the location of items, perform price checks, and respond to customer assistance needs/calls promptly.
  • Transaction Processing: Perform product scanning and processing of customer orders in an accurate, efficient, and prompt manner, ensure minimal waiting time to each customer, and account for all products in and under the cart before beginning customer orders.
  • Void, Return, Refund, and Exchange: Follow store return, refund, and exchange policies, complete refund forms and record on register log, handle transactions in a courteous and efficient manner, and call for shop back of perishable product as required.
  • Front End Safety and Security: Use appropriate scanning techniques and ergonomic methods, know and understand store emergency procedures, apply security tape as needed for proof of purchase, and notify appropriate personnel in case of theft or shoplifting.
  • Front End Maintenance and Cleaning: Clear floor and carts, clean and stock registers, fill bag stations, assemble tote boxes, perform shop back, straighten and fill product at check stands as directed.

Requirements:

  • Physical Demands: Frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., equipment operation (scanner, register, check approval machine, coupon machine, intercom), reaching, standing, and turning. Occasional lifting/carrying over 50 lbs., equipment operation (calculator), squatting, stooping/bending, and walking.
  • Mental Demands: Frequent judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing, and math. Occasional memorization, social skills/verbal interaction.
