Job Title: Certified Nurse Aide

Arnot Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nurse Aide to join our team. As a Certified Nurse Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being.

Job Summary:

The Certified Nurse Aide will be responsible for providing routine daily nursing and restorative care to residents, including bathing, mouth care, hair care, nail care, hygiene, toileting assistance, feeding, ambulation assistance, and promoting resident comfort. You will also be responsible for observing and reporting the presence of pressure areas and skin breakdowns, assisting with post-mortem care, taking and recording weights, temperatures, pulses, respirations, and blood pressures as directed, and answering call bells/lights promptly.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide routine daily nursing and restorative care to residents, including bathing, mouth care, hair care, nail care, hygiene, toileting assistance, feeding, ambulation assistance, and promoting resident comfort.
  • Observe and report the presence of pressure areas and skin breakdowns.
  • Assist with post-mortem care.
  • Take and record weights, temperatures, pulses, respirations, and blood pressures as directed.
  • Answer call bells/lights promptly.
  • Participate in performance assessment and improvement activities for continued quality improvement of resident care.
  • Attend continuing educational programs designed to enhance knowledge of the care of residents requiring Skilled Nursing as well as meet nurse aide certification requirements.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate preferred.
  • Previous experience or job knowledge is required.
  • Nursing aide certification is required. If hired without certification, must complete the requirements for nurse aide certification for job retention within 120 days.
  • Heartsaver CPR required within 90 days of hire date. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire date.
Working Conditions:

Good physical and mental health is required because long periods of standing and walking are involved. Also, stretching and lifting are required in the care of patients, the equipment, and the physical environment. Manual dexterity is necessary for handling instruments and equipment. Visual and aural acuity are required to make adequate observations of resident's condition.
