Position Overview:
The IT Infrastructure Specialist will support our computerized information systems, including computers, printers, scanners, servers, Local Area Networks (LAN), and telephony systems across multiple locations. This role involves assisting personnel with troubleshooting and providing training on various hardware and software applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee computer systems, ensuring desktops are updated, equipped with the latest antivirus/EDR, and safeguarded against unauthorized access.
- Manage user security across Windows and other necessary applications.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of operating systems, dealership applications, and hardware, including Microsoft applications and third-party systems.
- Monitor system logs and activities on all print and file servers, ensuring regular updates and backups.
- Assist in troubleshooting LAN issues in collaboration with the network manager.
- Engage with corporate IT staff to assess hardware and LAN requirements, making recommendations for upgrades or changes while controlling costs effectively.
- Coordinate equipment installation and maintenance with department managers to minimize business disruptions, which may require after-hours work.
- Support dealerships with special IT projects, such as temporary sales events and hardware relocations, as directed by management.
- Utilize and update the ticket tracking system to prioritize and deliver timely support to each dealership.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve application and hardware challenges as needed.
- Facilitate training for personnel on the use of computers, printers, and other peripherals, including desktop applications and telephony systems.
- Provide weekly reports to management detailing key accomplishments and upcoming projects or tickets.
- Be available during evenings and weekends to address any business interruptions related to system or LAN availability.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and approved by dealership management.
