Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to join our Intellectual Property practice within our Disputes, Claims, and Investigations group at Stout. The selected candidate will focus on intellectual property matters, including damages related to patent, copyright, and trademark infringement, as well as trade secret misappropriation in diverse industries covering a wide range of technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Expert Report Development: Prepare and review written reports, presentations, and graphical exhibits to provide expert analysis and opinions.
  • Engagement Management: Oversee and participate in the day-to-day execution of engagements, with primary responsibility for coordinating and executing the engagement workplan.
  • Financial Analysis: Oversee and participate in the creation of engagement analyses, including financial analysis and modeling.
  • Research and Development: Oversee and participate in company, industry, and case-specific research functions, including technical, economic, accounting, and/or market research to support the basis for our analyses, assumptions, and conclusions.
  • Team Management: Manage document organization processes, including the review, organization, and analysis of case documentation, testimony, court filings, and the identification of relevant information utilized for analysis.
  • Client Relationship Management: Assist with the management of client relationships with and without supervision.
  • Marketing and Thought Leadership: Participate in marketing and thought leadership efforts to promote Stout's expertise and services.
Requirements
  • Education: 4-year undergraduate degree with a concentration in economics, finance, and/or accounting.
  • Experience: 4 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in damages quantification, preferably related to intellectual property disputes.
  • Skills: Significant experience in drafting expert reports, managing project teams, strong analytical and technical finance, economics, and accounting skills, proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, ability to critically analyze financial statements, accounting records, tax returns, and other financial documents, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, ability to work with changing client-imposed deadlines, strong organizational skills, and experience working in a client service/professional services environment.
