Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the SMC team to ensure efficient operation, instrument maintenance, and data management.
  • Develop and implement next-generation instruments and imaging strategies to stay at the technological forefront.
  • Oversee the development of software tools for instrument control, data analysis, and project management.
  • Collaborate with laboratories at St. Jude to leverage single-molecule imaging for diverse biological systems.
  • Lead internal projects to advance the state of the art in single-molecule fluorescence imaging.
  • Establish policies and procedures for users and staff to maximize Center resources.
  • Manage SMC staff members with diverse technical backgrounds.
  • Participate in seminars and conferences to present research findings and stay updated on emerging technologies.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in physical sciences with 10 years of post-graduate experience.
  • Strong publication record demonstrating the power of single-molecule imaging.
  • Experience building custom single-molecule fluorescence microscopes.
  • Software engineering experience with MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, and C++.
