CNC Machine Operator and Programmer Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC machine operator and programmer to join our team at Gauthier Biomedical Inc. in Grafton, WI. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and programming CNC machines to produce high-quality medical devices.
Job Summary
The CNC machine operator and programmer will be responsible for creating programs on various CNC machines, equipment, and software; determining machining sequence and methodology; performing machining operations including programming, setups, operating, and troubleshooting; interpreting component drawings, blueprints, and engineering information; proving out programs; verifying that programs meet the requirements; determining tooling requirements; selecting, aligning, and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines; laying out, measuring, and marking material for subsequent machining; calculating and setting controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut; starting and observing machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusting machine controls as required; verifying conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary; effectively operating a variety of other machining equipment including manual machines, Wire EDM, and Sinker EDM; accurately completing production and quality documents; performing machine tool troubleshooting by utilizing and interpreting operator/maintenance manuals; cleaning and lubricating machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter; maintaining a clean and organized work area; striving to improve productivity, reduce scrap, and material waste in an efficient and organized manner; maintaining continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs; maintaining a professional working relationship and effectively communicating with all employees, managers, vendors, customers, and regulatory agencies; understanding and complying with company policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety regulations; and performing other production assignments as necessary.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of five years of CNC machining and programming experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior use of CAM software to create CNC programs is also preferred.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is estimated to be around $65,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, and short-term disability insurance, 401(k) plan with company match, Flexible Spending Accounts, and more.
