Job Summary

We're seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest experience services, assisting guests in selecting merchandise, and demonstrating a high level of interest in the welfare, health, and proper handling of all animals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide optimal guest experience services, including assisting guests in selecting merchandise and providing product knowledge to suggest the appropriate merchandise.
  • Ensure the health and well-being of live animals by providing the correct care in accordance with established Petco standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Interact professionally and effectively with all professional contacts, with an emphasis on company interests.
  • Perform all aspects of point-of-sale service, including cash sales, credit and check sales, returns, and exchanges.
  • Assist in stocking and facing merchandise according to established standards.
  • Complete cash register transactions and guest carry-out service, including merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds per trip.
  • Adhere to loss prevention policies and ensure that store animals, birds, reptiles, and fish receive the highest quality care.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and pull 2000 pounds utilizing material handling equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
