Job Summary:
The Pediatric Development Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the healthcare team at Loma Linda University Medical Center. This dynamic professional collaborates with pediatric patients and families to create a comfortable and engaging hospital experience.

This individual utilizes therapeutic play, education, and other interventions to help patients cope with hospitalization, procedures, and surgeries. By fostering strong relationships and providing exceptional customer service, our team member ensures that each family feels valued and supported throughout their journey.

A Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in Child Life/Child Development is required, accompanied by 500 hours of Child Life internship and one year of experience in child development/education centers. A hospital-based Child Life program background is highly preferred.

The ideal candidate possesses excellent interpersonal skills, allowing them to communicate effectively with colleagues and families alike. They must also be proficient in computer software programs and able to work calmly under pressure.

BLS Certification is mandatory, and passing the Child Life Certification exam within one year of hire is expected.
