Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team in Marietta, Georgia. This travel position offers a unique chance to work with cutting-edge MRI technology and contribute to patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation
    • Review patient medical history, doctor's orders, and previous imaging studies to ensure the correct MRI procedure is conducted.
    • Explain the MRI procedure to patients, addressing any questions or concerns to reduce anxiety.
    • Complete necessary documentation, including informed consent forms and patient information, before the procedure.
    • Verify patient identity and screening criteria to ensure safety.
    • Prepare the MRI room by ensuring the machine and equipment are ready for the procedure.
  • Conducting MRI Scans
    • Operate the MRI machine, adjusting settings as prescribed by the physician to obtain high-quality images.
    • Position patients on the MRI table, ensuring they are comfortable and aligned to capture the correct images.
    • Administer contrast agents as prescribed by the physician to enhance image clarity.
    • Monitor the MRI process to confirm quality imaging and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Patient Safety and Comfort
    • Ensure patient safety during the MRI procedure, especially concerning strong magnetic fields.
    • Keep patients informed during the scan, providing reassurance and instructions as needed.
    • Monitor patient condition, including vital signs, during the scan to detect any potential issues.
  • Post-Procedure Care
    • Assist patients off the MRI table after the procedure and ensure they are stable and comfortable.
    • Provide post-procedure instructions, including follow-up treatments and care for injection sites.
    • Ensure required post-scan imaging or additional scans are scheduled as necessary.
  • Maintenance and Equipment Care
    • Regularly calibrate and maintain the MRI machine, performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary.
    • Clean and disinfect the MRI suite and equipment between patients to adhere to infection control protocols.
    • Monitor equipment performance and alert staff for repairs or servicing.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $60,000 per year, based on 10 hour shifts and 40 hours of work per week. However, the exact salary will depend on various factors, including experience and location.

This role requires effective communication with physicians, radiologists, and other medical staff to ensure the correct images are obtained and patient needs are met. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work well in a team environment.
