Job Title: Front Load Driver

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Front Load Driver to join our team at J P Mascaro and Sons. As a Front Load Driver, you will be responsible for operating a front load trash truck in accordance with DOT Regulations, Company policy, and established standards for excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a front load trash truck on established subscription routes or municipal territories.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the truck, as well as the helpers assigned to the truck.
  • Transport and dump municipal wastes at a regulated transfer station or approved landfill.
  • Coordinate with the Route Supervisor, Dispatch or Operations Manager to ensure all stops are picked up and to receive any special instructions.
  • Obtain load weight tickets and sign for loads, maintaining any related records required.
  • Clean the truck daily to ensure it meets company expectations.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as outlined in the pre and post-trip vehicle condition report.
  • Report any maintenance issues on the vehicle condition report and report it immediately to the route supervisor or operations manager.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of commercial driving experience.
  • A valid PA Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B or equivalent) with air brake endorsement.
  • Must meet all required DOT physical and medical requirements and pass a substance abuse screening.
  • Ability to effectively deal with customers and co-workers.
  • Requires a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the vehicle to prevent damage to truck, equipment, or surrounding items.
  • Ability to sit in the cab of the truck for long periods, bend, stoop, and climb into and out of the vehicle and body unassisted multiple times a day.
  • Ability to push/pull heavy wheeled containers requiring heavy pushing/pulling force.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather.
