Job Summary and Qualifications
This role requires a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality maternal care in our labor and delivery department. Key responsibilities include:
- Placing mothers on fetal monitors and interpreting strips accurately.
- Responding promptly to non-reassuring fetal monitor tracings.
- Performing vaginal exams and monitoring labor activity accurately.
- Notifying physicians promptly of non-reassuring assessments.
- Titrating Pitocin and monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
- Completing OB/Nursery and Labor and Delivery Orientation Checklists.
- Administering magnesium sulfate for preterm labor patients and pre-eclamptic patients.
- Assisting anesthesiologists with epidural placement and recognizing/responding appropriately to complications.
- Recruiting C-Sections and Circulating for C-Sections.
- Accurately administering medications according to hospital policy.
- Observing and recording patient reactions to medication, I.V. therapy, blood transfusion, and treatment.
