Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities
- The Registered Nurse will utilize the nursing process to provide high-quality patient care in all settings, collaborating with other healthcare providers as needed.
- The RN will be accountable for their own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law.
- The nurse will act as a patient advocate, ensuring the delivery of safe care, including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities.
- The delivery of nursing care will reflect the missions, vision, values, and philosophies of Kettering Health and the nursing department.
Qualifications
Applicants Must Have:
- A valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio.
- A graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing (NLN, ACEN, or CCNE) for new graduate nurses.
- A Bachelor of Science in nursing degree is preferred, with a requirement to complete the degree within five years of hire.
- A nurse returning to the acute care setting after five or more years may be required to provide evidence of successful completion of a refresher course.
- Current BLS certification.
- ACLS, NRP, PALS certification as determined by unit scope of practice.
