Biomechanics Engineer

The UMass Lowell NERVE Center is seeking a highly skilled Biomechanics Engineer to support multiple exoskeleton studies and performance evaluations. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and processing biomechanics data, managing databases, obtaining regulatory approvals, maintaining equipment and inventory, recruiting and scheduling participants, and providing training and supervision to faculty, staff, students, and collaborators.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and analyze biomechanics data using human motion capture instrumentation, including optical systems and instrumented treadmill/force platforms.
- Manage and maintain databases to store and track data.
- Obtain and maintain regulatory approvals for human subjects research.
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment and inventory.
- Recruit and schedule participants for studies.
- Provide training and supervision to faculty, staff, students, and collaborators on the use of research equipment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Biomechanics, Exercise Science/Kinesiology, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- At least three years of experience with and proficiency in human motion capture instrumentation, surface EMG instrumentation, human subjects research, and MS Office.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to work in a team, take initiative, and learn new skills.
- Experience with inertial motion capture (IMUs), Matlab/Python programming, Visual3d programming, and indirect Calorimetry.
