Position Summary

The Warehouse Operations Team Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing various warehouse functions, including order fulfillment, inventory management, shipping, receiving, and stock audits. This position supports the Operations Supervisor in ensuring that best practices are consistently followed by the warehouse team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute multiple warehouse tasks such as receiving, order fulfillment, inventory management, stock audits, and shipping to ensure timely completion of daily operations while meeting customer service standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to facilitate the efficient movement of goods within the warehouse.
  • Provide training and motivation to team members, ensuring tasks are performed safely and efficiently.
  • Support the onboarding process by offering peer training to new hires.
  • Encourage adherence to approved warehouse procedures regarding equipment inspections, damage reporting, inventory management, cleanliness, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and stock audits, escalating issues to the Operations Supervisor as necessary.
  • Lead daily shift briefings to address team member concerns and promote open communication.
  • Propose and assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as the technical expert for workflow processes and RF scanning technology for team members.
  • Address RF IT-related issues promptly, including initiating IT support requests and following up.
  • Foster teamwork through positive communication.
  • Assist the Operations Supervisor in monitoring daily productivity and quality metrics.
  • Complete and review the Team Lead Daily Shift Report with the Operations Supervisor before the end of the shift.
  • May be required to cover multiple shifts during peak periods or staff absences to maintain service levels.
  • Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Operations Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in warehouse operations, with a strong safety record.
  • Familiarity with RF-based Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferably Red Prairie.

Competencies and Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of receiving, order fulfillment, inventory management, and shipping processes.
  • Understanding of client-specific requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, suitable for a customer-focused environment.
  • Adaptability to change and openness to new methods and practices.
  • Intermediate knowledge of WMS RF scanning technology and the ability to train others in its use.
  • Ability to mentor others in various warehouse operations processes.
  • Respected by peers and serves as a role model within the team.
  • Proactive in identifying potential issues related to warehouse processes and escalating non-routine decisions to management.
