Job Summary:As a Swim Instructor, you will teach American Red Cross swim classes to students of various ages and abilities. You will develop and implement lesson plans, test students, and complete student certificates as required by the American Red Cross. Additionally, you will work with swimmers in the water as needed and operate handicap chair, lift, and rescue equipment. You will also respond to emergencies using appropriate first aid and teach other non-ARC swim classes or supervise non-instructional swim programs as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Teach American Red Cross swim classes to students of various ages and abilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans, test students, and complete student certificates as required by the American Red Cross
- Work with swimmers in the water as needed
- Operate handicap chair, lift, and rescue equipment
- Respond to emergencies using appropriate first aid
- Teach other non-ARC swim classes or supervise non-instructional swim programs as assigned
Requirements:
- Current American Red Cross certifications for lifeguarding, CPR, first aid, AED, and Water Safety Instructor
- Ability to work effectively with swimmers of various ages and abilities
- Ability to handle handicap chair, lift, and rescue equipment
- Experience as a swim instructor preferred but not required
Working Conditions:
- $18 - $20/hour; Hours vary
