Job Summary

Soliant is seeking a dedicated and passionate School-Based Paraprofessional to support students' educational and developmental needs in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Support: Assist teachers in delivering instructional activities and lessons to students.
  • Student Support: Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs or learning difficulties.
  • Classroom Management: Monitor and support students in various school settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and lunchrooms.
  • Organizational Support: Help with classroom management and organization, including preparation of instructional materials and resources.
  • Social Skills Development: Support students in developing social skills and positive behaviors.
  • Environment Maintenance: Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Associates degree or higher in education or a related field, experience working with children in an educational setting, strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work effectively as part of a team, patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with children.
Required Certifications
  • Oregon Paraprofessional Certificate: Required if you do not have an associate's degree or higher, or 72 quarter hours of college coursework, or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification: Preferred but can be obtained after hiring.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting and Mobility: Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing and Walking: Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Kneeling and Bending: Ability to kneel, bend, and reach as necessary to assist students.
Working Conditions
  • Full-time Position: Full-time position during the school year.
  • Variable Hours: Hours may vary based on school schedules and needs.
  • Work Environment: Work primarily in a school setting, with occasional outdoor supervision.
