Position Overview:
The EHR Systems Specialist will provide comprehensive support for eClinicalWorks across all service centers.


This role involves collaborating with the entire clinical healthcare team to enhance the utilization of the electronic health record system, ensuring quality and efficient operations within the platform.


The incumbent will play a key role in implementing optimal workflow practices in clinics and identifying necessary custom enhancements to the EHR, based on feedback from the clinical team.


Compensation:
The salary range for the EHR Systems Specialist position at Center For Elders Independence is $83,593 - $125,399 per year.


This compensation is reflective of market standards for the EHR Systems Specialist role, alongside individual experience, skills, and work history.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and escalate issues to the Lead EHR Analyst as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the EHR Lead Analyst and eClinicalWorks technical team for further escalation of issues.
  • Assist in the development of custom templates and smart forms as directed by providers and prioritized by the EHR committee.
  • Deliver initial and ongoing EHR training for providers and clinical staff, including the creation of training materials.
  • Stay updated on advancements in EHR, Health Information Exchange (HIE), and clinical software technologies.
  • Offer clinical expertise and assist with project management for implementations, system upgrades, and new technology rollouts.
  • Support and maintain all interfaces to the EHR, including but not limited to Quest, SureScripts, and others.
  • Provide consultation and support for complex technology and clinic workflow challenges.
  • Perform user support and troubleshooting, ensuring timely resolution of complex issues to minimize disruption to clinic operations.
  • Ensure appropriate security groups are maintained for clinical functions.
  • Support compliance with Meaningful Use, HIPAA, Data Reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in training as required.
  • Complete other duties as assigned related to eClinicalWorks.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical, Business, or Healthcare fields such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Healthcare Informatics.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in building eClinicalWorks or other EHR systems.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in training clinical staff on eClinicalWorks or other EHR systems.
  • At least 4 years of information technology experience in a clinical environment.
  • Certification in current EHR technologies such as EPIC, eCW, Cerner, Allscripts, Siemens, or GE Centricity.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable personal transportation.
  • Ability to teach and train a diverse range of clinical and administrative staff.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient data confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA policies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of compliance issues within a clinical setting.
  • Willingness to report any unusual incidents that deviate from accepted clinic procedures.
  • Sensitivity to and willingness to engage with individuals from diverse social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
