This is a full-time, benefit-earning position within Hennepin County's Public Health Clinical Services. The successful candidate will join a team of support and provider professionals providing comprehensive outpatient mental health services to adults with serious mental illness, as well as those with co-occurring substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct diagnostic assessments to evaluate a client's mental health functioning and develop treatment recommendations and goals.
- Administer, score, and interpret intelligence and personality tests to inform treatment plans.
- Provide mental health therapy to children, adolescents, families, adults, and the elderly, utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Record client progress and attendance, and maintain accurate and comprehensive records.
- Write comprehensive psychological reports detailing client histories, diagnoses, and treatment recommendations.
- Communicate with healthcare providers, courts, and family members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Provide consultation to other Hennepin County entities on addressing mental health needs of their clients.
- Graduate degree in psychology with an approved clinical internship in the area of specialization.
- Certification as a psychological practitioner or eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in the State of Minnesota within 18 months.
- Doctoral degree in psychology or a related field, with experience in administering and interpreting comprehensive psychological evaluations.
- Knowledge of early developmental needs, healthy attachment, and healthy parenting practices.
- Bilingual competency (Spanish or Somali) and/or experience utilizing interpreter services.
