Job SummaryAs a Surgical Technologist II at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in the operating room team, assisting surgeons and medical professionals during surgical procedures. This is a dynamic and challenging position that requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons and medical professionals during surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient operating environment.
- Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in good working order.
- Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team as directed, maintaining a sterile environment at all times.
- Assist with patient care during and after surgery, including preparing patients for procedures and providing post-operative care.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination during procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Assist with inventory management, restocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized operating room.
- Provide education and training to new staff members and students as needed.
- One (1) year of operating room or military equivalent experience in a scrub role within the last two (2) years or recent completion of an operating room training program.
- Surgical Technologist Certificate within six (6) months of hire from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to scrub all types of surgical cases except open heart.
This is a variable position with variable start times, including 10-hour shifts. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
