Healthcare Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at the Houston Medical Center. This role involves providing patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, ensuring the highest level of service and support for our patients.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position working day shifts (7a-7p) with the possibility of rotating shifts as needed. As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, transporting patients, preparing them for procedures, collecting vital signs, and performing various tasks that require documented competencies.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent not required but preferred; High school graduate or GED equivalent required
- One year of experience as a healthcare support specialist or similar title in a hospital setting
- AHA-BLS certification
- Medical terminology, hospital professional services, documentation, and departmental responsibilities
- Anatomy and physiology, infection control, vital signs, medical records, and specimen collection
- Assistance with physical exams, dressing changes, and patient-focused care
