As a Respiratory Therapist at WVU Medicine, you will provide respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by physicians, adhering to established standards and practices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing respiratory therapy to patients according to physician orders and established standards.
  • Setting up equipment and administering treatments as ordered.
  • Assessing patient data and interpreting relevant information to identify individual needs.
  • Delivering and setting up equipment, monitoring patients on continuous ventilation, and discontinuing therapy as ordered.
  • Reporting observations and changes in therapy to the next shift.
  • Maintaining department equipment and supplies, and alerting supervisors to equipment malfunctions.
  • Consulting with medical and nursing staff as needed.
