Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is seeking a highly skilled Manual Machinist to join our team in Moorpark, CA.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate blueprints and develop a machining strategy to fabricate precision-machined parts.
- Identify and select the appropriate tooling to machine hardware.
- Create work holders or fixtures used to machine hardware.
- Verify parts using precision measuring equipment.
- Change tools and offsets based on cutting conditions when running CNC.
- Produce quality parts that adhere to production and quality standards using proper methodology and cutting tools.
- Use proper feeds, speeds, and other cutting parameters based on work piece material.
- Re-machining parts based on engineering or production required changes.
- Participate in troubleshooting for production-related issues on the shop floor.
- Machine prototype hardware with limited supervision.
- Deburr parts as needed.
- 5 years minimum experience setting up and running manual mills and lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- CNC experience a plus.
- Experience machining titanium, stainless, aluminum, plastics, and other standard aerospace materials.
- ESPRIT, Master Cam programming software experience a plus.
- Knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical instructions with the engineering department.
- Work with little or no supervision, previous lead experience a plus.
- Minimum High school education or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate with others effectively in both written and verbal fashion.
- Meet all ITAR and BATFE background requirements.
