Senior Pipefitter

SK pharmteco, a leading custom manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs, Drug Substances) and registered intermediates, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Pipefitter to join our Maintenance Team at our La Porte, TX facility.

The Senior Pipefitter will be responsible for the layout, assembly, installation, and maintenance of pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems.

• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Identify and obtain all necessary tools and equipment for tasks.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety precautions to eliminate hazards.
• Prepare, fabricate, install, and fit pipe to specifications, ensuring high-quality results.
• Install valves, hangers, supports, flanges, and other equipment inside piping systems according to plans and applicable specifications.
• Perform tests to ensure the quality of the pipe and piping systems.
• Operate hoisting equipment, including slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging gear.
• Assemble and repair pipe systems of various shapes, sizes, and pressures.
• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using specialized tools.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Select pipe sizes and types, as well as related materials, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
• Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment, following specifications and using hand and power tools.
• Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.
• Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches.
• Remove and replace worn components.
• Inspect work sites for obstructions and ensure that holes will not cause structural weakness.

• Typically requires 3-5 years of related experience and a high school diploma or equivalent, or 2 years of experience plus an associate's degree, or additional training or certification.
• 3-5 Years of Industrial Construction Experience
• 3-5 Years of Industrial Maintenance Experience

The workplace may include areas where a wide variety of chemical materials are used and stored. May involve potential exposure to variable noise levels. Must customarily have a high consciousness for personnel and equipment safety. May be required to utilize a variety of personal protective equipment. May need to work outside of normal office hours.
