Cardiac Telemetry Specialist

The Cardiac Telemetry Specialist will assist in the performance of clinical and technical procedures which contribute to the care of the Neonatal/Pediatric monitored telemetry patient under the direction of the Registered Professional Nurse. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrocardiograph equipment and be able to maintain and monitor rate limits.
Responsibilities
* Assist medical and nursing staff with continuous monitoring of patient's ECG, oxygen saturation, and other rhythms
* Maintain and monitor rate limits
* Recognize irregularities due to change in patient rhythm or machine malfunction
* Perform clerical and receptionist duties for assigned Patient Care Services unit
* Operate online computer terminal to enter/retrieve/correct patient information
Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent required
* Three to six months of healthcare experience with electrocardiograph or completion of a training program in the use of electrocardiograph equipment
* Prior experience in reading EKG strips preferred
* BLS Certification required
