Position Summary:

The Facility Maintenance Technician is tasked with ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of equipment, facilities, and surrounding areas. This role is commonly known as a Janitor and includes various responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough cleaning of plant equipment using various methods.
  • Perform tasks such as scrubbing, sanitizing, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping.
  • Manage waste disposal, clean spills, replace air fresheners, change light bulbs, and lock doors.
  • Prepare facilities for events, including meetings and banquets.
  • Maintain cleanliness in offices, restrooms, break rooms, and other areas.
  • Assist in moving furniture, supplies, and equipment as necessary.
  • Engage in outdoor maintenance, including trimming shrubbery and clearing walkways.
  • Participate in safety programs and use Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance tasks and monitor cleaning supplies.
  • Operate powered industrial trucks for various tasks.
  • Adhere to efficiency and safety standards consistently.
  • Maintain a tidy work area and perform additional tasks as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support other production roles as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to recognize colors and sizes, and accurately count and sort items.
  • Certification to operate powered industrial trucks may be required in some locations.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning products and procedures, or willingness to learn.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to work independently and follow both written and verbal instructions.

Education:

No formal education required.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 90 lbs.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings typical of an industrial laundry facility, which may involve exposure to large machinery, temperature variations, and various environmental factors.
