Position Overview
As a Senior Laboratory Technologist, you will lead efforts to ensure the precision and promptness of laboratory test results by effectively managing testing personnel. Your expertise will be utilized in a designated area of the laboratory, allowing you to make a significant impact on patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of Clinical Laboratory Medicine to ensure high accuracy in test results.
  • Conduct routine and advanced laboratory procedures utilizing both standard and specialized equipment, adhering to established protocols.
  • Prepare, label, and store reagents and chemical solutions appropriately.
  • Assess the validity of test outcomes through quality control measures and departmental guidelines.
  • Document and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Implement corrective actions to address any quality assurance deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maximize productivity and efficiency during shifts.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to laboratory trainees and students.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols.
  • Utilize computer systems effectively for laboratory operations.
  • Compile and analyze data for reporting purposes.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
  • Participate in team meetings to enhance communication and collaboration.
  • Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the supervisor as needed.
  • Assist in the validation of new assays and prepare data for review by the Medical Director.
  • Contribute to the development of technical procedures and ensure they are submitted for review and approval.
  • Train new staff on testing procedures and assist in the implementation of new clinical tests.
  • Resolve technical issues and serve as a resource for laboratory staff.
  • Ensure timely completion of pending logs and worksheets.
  • Proactively identify and address complex technical challenges.
  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date procedure manuals and conducting annual reviews.
  • Participate in proficiency testing and assist in reviewing results.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant scientific field from an accredited institution.
  • Certifications: Valid certification as a Medical Technologist (MT), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of laboratory experience.
Physical Requirements
Must adhere to safety standards and utilize personal protective equipment as required.
