Job Description

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts.

Job Summary: We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist to work in our Interventional Radiology department. The ideal candidate will have experience in radiography and a strong understanding of radiation safety and protection procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate complex diagnostic and interventional radiographic equipment, ensuring proper patient positioning and immobilization.
  • Select appropriate imaging factors and use independent judgment to perform patient examinations.
  • Utilize fluoroscopy for positioning during invasive procedures and ensure proper patient demographics and documentation.
  • Participate in IR procedures, cross-train, and support sub-specialties within IR, including abdominal procedures, vascular procedures, and neuro IR.
  • Maintain aseptic conditions, prepare patients for procedures, and participate in cases, including sterile prep and infection control policies.
  • Support physician staff in handling and management of labs and specimens obtained during IR procedures.
  • Use personal protective equipment and precautions from hazardous materials, follow hospital guidelines, and isolation precautions.
  • Assist physicians during procedures, scrub in as a second operator, and operate ancillary equipment used in interventional procedures.
  • Calibrate and verify operation of equipment, troubleshoot, and notify personnel of equipment malfunctions.
  • Deliver patient care under the scope of license and training, follow two-identifier patient identification process, and maintain inventory tracking and utilization.
  • Validate documentation, participate in educational programs, and meet state and national requirements for continuing education credits.
  • Oversee and instruct personnel and technology students, maintain procedure areas, and prepare equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, communicate effectively, and represent IR well in communication to staff outside the department.

Requirements:

  • Radiography RT license in the state of MA
  • R.T(R) - ARRT certification
  • BLS certification
  • Successful completion of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • Minimum of 1 year of Radiography experience
