Role Overview:
As a Senior Manager within Visa's Payment Acceptance technology division, focusing on Security & Identity and Cloud capabilities, you will lead the charge for our most valuable resource, our engineers, to deliver exceptional features with utmost quality.
You will grasp the business priorities linked to these pivotal initiatives. Your Responsibilities Include:
- Providing technological leadership and serving as the technical authority on key projects.
- Driving the release strategy and overseeing the execution of strategic initiatives that align with business objectives in innovative payment acceptance and integrated commerce management.
- Maintaining awareness of interdependencies among projects and ensuring a clear delivery vision while upholding engineering excellence.
- Formulating strategies for your teams to architect, design, and deliver the next generation of enterprise FinTech innovations.
Key Functions:
- Assist clients in achieving their objectives by comprehending their requirements and how these can benefit their operations.
- Define needs, develop plans, coordinate resources, and implement actionable strategies.
- Manage a team of 10 engineers, both directly and indirectly.
- Oversee multiple projects concurrently and resolve scheduling conflicts to meet all deadlines.
- Utilize various development methodologies, including Agile, with a mature understanding of their respective strengths and weaknesses.
- Mentor engineers in both technical and career development.
- Foster a collaborative team environment.
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid role, with employees expected to work from the office 2-3 designated days per week, based on leadership/site requirements, aiming for approximately 50% in-office presence depending on business needs.
Qualifications:
Basic:
8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 5+ years with an Advanced Degree, or 2+ years with a PhD.
Preferred:
9+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 7+ years with an Advanced Degree, or 3+ years with a PhD in Computer Science/Engineering, Science, or Math. Experience in a leadership role for 3+ years is also preferred.
Additional Skills:
Experience in consumer-facing application development, commercial software development in Unix/Linux environments, container development and deployment, understanding of security requirements and trends, and multi-cloud service deployment (GCP, Azure, AWS). Proficiency in Java/J2EE technologies, database technologies, and agile development processes is essential.
Communication:
Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Work Hours:
Varies based on departmental needs.
Travel Requirements:
This position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements:
This role will be performed in an office setting, requiring the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, and frequently operate standard office equipment.
Compensation:
The estimated salary range for this position is between $141,900 and $205,800 annually, which may include potential sales incentives. Salary may vary based on job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position may also be eligible for bonuses and equity.
