Job Summary:
The Sanitation Services Associate is tasked with ensuring a safe and hygienic environment in patient/resident rooms and designated areas for patients, visitors, and staff by adhering to infection control, safety, and procedural protocols. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Emptying waste receptacles
  • Cleaning and maintaining floors through sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing
  • Utilizing various cleaning tools and machinery
  • Demonstrating knowledge of housekeeping practices in a healthcare setting
  • Ensuring cleanliness in patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and other common areas
  • Wearing appropriate protective equipment as per guidelines
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of storage areas and equipment
  • Assisting in laundry services as needed

Physical activities required for this role include significant use of arms and legs, as well as the ability to lift and/or move up to 40-50 lbs. The position demands being on one's feet for the majority of the shift and may involve exposure to noise from operational equipment. Work hours may vary based on patient/resident needs, including potential overtime and shifts during nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have a minimum of six months of experience in housekeeping or commercial cleaning. Familiarity with cleaning materials, equipment, and methods is advantageous. Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is also preferred.
