Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychotherapist to join our team of mental health professionals. As a Psychotherapist, you will provide mental health services to clients referred through our primary care services, ages 13 and up. You will work with individuals, couples, families, and groups, providing individual, group, couple, and family psychotherapy. You will also have the opportunity to work with our youth programs, providing mental health services to youth clients referred through medical services, and youth accessing services through our RealTalk DC and Peer Education Center programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, group, couples, and family psychotherapy services, assessing for risk and intervening in crisis situations.
  • Perform intake, assessment, and treatment planning, and monitor client progress toward treatment goals.
  • Ensure appropriate clinical treatment congruent with DSM-5 diagnosis.
  • Provide case formulation for each client from a sound theoretical knowledge base.
  • Assist clients in identifying and accessing various internal and external community resources.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related field.
  • 36 months' experience in substance abuse disorders.
  • Experience working with the LGBTQ+ and HIV/AIDS communities.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10, LGBT issues, and issues related to racial, cultural, gender identity, and sexual minority status.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare information systems and ability to adapt to new electronic medical records and population health platforms.
Working Relationships
  • Reports to the Senior Manager of Behavioral Health or their designee.
  • Works in collaboration with assigned clients.
  • Collaborates with WWH direct services staff and volunteers.
  • Maintains relationships with other organizations as necessary to facilitate the provision of services to clients.
