Charge Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Registered Nurse to join our team at Kennestone Hospital. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for directing and overseeing the daily activities of the Acute Pulmonary Unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting a safe and respectful environment for patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Round on every patient daily to evaluate quality and appropriateness of patient care, including corrective action when needed.
• Perform or provide oversight for the Nursing Process, including assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide or provide oversight for relationship-based care delivery, patient-centered care, and comprehensive hand-off communication processes.
• Practice using current clinical practice standards with a focus on safety and quality.
• Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care, including promotion of interdisciplinary communication and regular interdisciplinary planning/rounds.
• Participate in performance improvement, research, and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care.
• Ensure patient/family/staff confidentiality and corporate compliance requirements, including completing all required mandatory education and proficiencies.
• Participate in planning and requesting resources for providing high-quality care and assist in acquiring appropriate staffing during unexpected staffing shortages or surges in census.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing as an Associate Degree/Diploma Nurse or Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Reg Nurse (Single State) and RN - Multi-state Compact licenses required.
