At Contentnea Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Pharmacist to join our team as an Operations Manager. This role will be responsible for the operational, clinical, and administrative oversight of our pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process patient prescriptions and manage daily pharmacy operations, including interpreting, packing, labeling, and dispensing prescriptions, as well as administering and distributing drugs.
  2. Assist patients at prescription drop-off and pick-up areas and disburse completed and confirmed prescriptions to patients.
  3. Assist with staff training and ensure all payments, including cash, check, and credit card, are reconciled and submitted to the finance department.
  4. Coordinate maintenance of the pharmacy environment, including cleanliness and neatness.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

  1. Facilitate collaboration with healthcare teams to enhance patient care, including providing education on 340B pharmacy services and representing the pharmacy in meetings.
  2. Collaborate with practitioners to provide consults on drug information and patient education, and assist in assessing patient information for correct medication orders.

Administrative Supervision:

  1. Assist with the purchase of all drugs, supplies, and pharmaceuticals used in the pharmacy, and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and vendors.
  2. Maintain current knowledge of and participate in inventory processes, including ordering, inventory returns, restocking shelves with proper rotation of items, and managing outdated medications.
  3. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for pharmacy practice and operations, including the 340B program, NC Board of Pharmacy, Drug Enforcement Agency, Medicaid, and other relevant regulations.

Quality Metrics and Departmental Quality Improvement:

  1. Participate in quality metrics directives and departmental quality improvement projects, including reading emails and other platforms of communication within the organization, complying with Clinical Quality Measures expectations, and using resources to verify standards of care.
  2. Modify workflows as determined by the department to attain quality objectives and consistently document activities related to quality projects.

Management of Department Staff:

  1. Determine the most effective method for assigning responsibilities and duties to department employees, and assign duties and responsibilities, ensuring employees receive instruction and training needed to complete their job responsibilities.
  2. Ensure employees are aware of and adhere to all company policies and procedures, and convey all senior management communications and directives.
  3. Review departmental work for thoroughness and accuracy, and provide specific instructions to supervisors and employees on completion of tasks and responsibilities.

Qualifications and Skills:

Doctoral degree in pharmacy, current licensure as a pharmacist in good standing with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy, and current BLS certification. Possesses knowledge of the 340B program, state, federal, and third-party regulations relating to pharmacy operations.
