Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services. Your primary responsibility will be to assist physicians with patient care, performing a range of tasks that will make a significant impact on our patients' lives.

Responsibilities:

• Measure and record vital signs
• Record patient interview, history, and chief complaint
• Provide patient education on office policies, medications, disease management, home treatments, and special diets
• Assist physicians with exams and minor office surgery
• Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests
• Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures, and perform other first aid procedures
• Use CPR skills when required
• Maintain supplies, equipment, stock, and sterilization of instruments
• Practice OSHA safety standards
• Perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times
• May triage patient phone calls and review prescriptions with patients as directed by physicians

Qualifications:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent programs
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with varying populations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant

Licenses and Certifications:

• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification
