Division Controller Job Description

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a skilled Division Controller to join ADB Companies Inc. as a key member of our team.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Division Controller to provide financial leadership and support to our divisional business unit leaders and corporate accounting department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive control system to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with US GAAP and ASC 606.
  • Prepare and analyze financial and management reports to provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to identify growth opportunities and develop strategies to drive business growth.
  • Manage and facilitate the review of cost incurred to date, estimates to complete, and change order approvals to ensure proper revenue recognition and compliance with US GAAP (ASC 606).
  • Monitor and report on the overall billing position and cash flow at a project level.
  • Provide timely reports showing actual and projected project financials of varying contract type, size, and identify issues within the operating businesses and offer improvements in overall financial results.
  • Review the division's financial results with senior leaders, provide trends, and ratios, and report on financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
  • Ability to provide high-level Excel reports and analysis to support the business.
  • Manage all aspects of the division's financial responsibilities, including review of A/R, Unbilled, Capital Spending, and profitability analysis.
  • Assist in analyzing the financial impact of operational business decisions and issues affecting the company and provide suggestions for improvement.
  • Assist in preparation of Monthly Operating Reports and Scorecards in support of the department and overall business.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience required.
  • Experience with percentage of completion revenue recognition required.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience supporting operations and working in a matrix environment.
  • Construction accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
