Position Overview

Mixologists are expected to serve guests in a friendly and responsible manner, ensuring the safety and satisfaction of both the establishment and its patrons by adhering to safety, sanitation, and beverage control policies. All staff members are required to maintain the beverage service areas, ensuring that all supplies are readily available and replenished throughout the shift. Employees should practice 'clean-as-you-go' methods to uphold the cleanliness of the bar and surrounding areas. Additionally, staff members should develop and follow daily schedules for optimal staffing coverage. All team members should work collaboratively to achieve daily objectives by rotating assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare beverage service areas for operation, including displaying menus, condiments, glassware, snacks, promotional materials, and ensuring adequate stock of beverages and ice to support all staff members.
  • Greet every guest warmly, using their name once established, and maintain a sincere demeanor throughout each interaction.
  • Understand protocols for handling unique situations, including how to manage over-served guests.
  • Assist guests in selecting food and beverages by presenting menus, offering cocktail suggestions, explaining specials, identifying suitable wines, and answering questions about food preparation.
  • Communicate orders to the bar and kitchen by accurately recording guests' selections and noting any special dietary needs or requests.
  • Keep kitchen staff informed by noting guest counts, operational changes, and patterns in guest behavior.
  • Deliver orders by picking up and serving guests' selections from various food and beverage outlets.
  • Respond to additional guest requests by inquiring about their needs and sharing information about services, amenities, and events.
  • Maintain cleanliness by clearing used items, replenishing utensils, and being vigilant about spills or other needs.
  • Effectively communicate with management and team members regarding any relevant information.
  • Conclude guest experiences by expressing gratitude for their business and inviting them to return.
  • Process payments accurately, including totaling charges, issuing bills, and returning change or receipts to guests.
General Duties:
  • Warmly welcome guests entering the beverage service area.
  • Guide and inform guests about food and beverage offerings, amenities, and services.
  • Anticipate guest needs and address complaints in a courteous manner.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
  • Follow proper portion control guidelines.
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures related to food and beverage service.
  • Complete all opening and closing procedures for the position.
  • Deliver supplies from storage to service areas as needed and monitor stock levels throughout the day.
  • Prepare, blend, pour, garnish, and serve beverages as requested.
  • Utilize the point-of-sale system to accurately process transactions and issue receipts.
  • Identify prices for food and beverage items and services offered.
  • Work efficiently with a high volume of guests.
  • Ensure complete guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a welcoming and presentable environment at all times.
  • Monitor for signs of over-serving and ensure compliance with alcohol service policies.
  • Follow the established work schedule, which may vary daily.
  • Manage the flow of guests effectively.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverage orders.
  • Clear and clean tables at the bar, and maintain cleanliness of the area.
  • Restock condiments and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain ice bins and replenish garnishes.
  • Assist other servers with drink orders as necessary.
  • Restock food and beverage supplies from storage as required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Preferred experience: 3 years in bartending and 2 years in hospitality.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds using safe lifting techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and operate office equipment.
  • Must be able to direct evacuations in emergencies.
  • Finger dexterity required for operating various equipment.
