Job Title: Professional Land SurveyorIMEG Corp, a 100% employee-owned organization, is seeking a skilled Professional Land Surveyor to join our team in Gurnee, IL. As a key member of our surveying team, you will be responsible for conducting complex surveys, preparing new parcel plats, and resolving boundary disputes.
Key Responsibilities:- Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data to determine positions, shapes, and elevations of geomorphic and topographic features.
- Perform complex surveys and complete projects as assigned.
- Research historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title information as needed.
- Follow accepted legal principles to compare and verify current measurements and resolve boundary disputes.
- Prepare new parcel plats and legal descriptions.
- Perform staking computations and create exhibits.
- Supervise, participate in, and approve the reduction of survey field notes and calculations.
- Assist in training junior staff members.
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Land Surveying or minor in Land Surveying (preferred).
- Meet state-specific licensure requirements for experience, education, and pass NCEES LS exam.
- Minimum 4 years of PLS experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents with excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated aptitude to understand calculations, alignments, and instructions for field work.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD C3D software functionality to prepare survey plats and exhibits.
- Must maintain thorough understanding of IMEG survey equipment, survey practices, and survey software programs including GPS surveying practices.
- Effectively communicate with clients, officials, contractors, and others.
- Self-motivated with good time management.
- Travel may be required.
- Valid driver's license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier.
