Job Title: Professional Land Surveyor

IMEG Corp, a 100% employee-owned organization, is seeking a skilled Professional Land Surveyor to join our team in Gurnee, IL. As a key member of our surveying team, you will be responsible for conducting complex surveys, preparing new parcel plats, and resolving boundary disputes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data to determine positions, shapes, and elevations of geomorphic and topographic features.
  • Perform complex surveys and complete projects as assigned.
  • Research historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title information as needed.
  • Follow accepted legal principles to compare and verify current measurements and resolve boundary disputes.
  • Prepare new parcel plats and legal descriptions.
  • Perform staking computations and create exhibits.
  • Supervise, participate in, and approve the reduction of survey field notes and calculations.
  • Assist in training junior staff members.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Land Surveying or minor in Land Surveying (preferred).
  • Meet state-specific licensure requirements for experience, education, and pass NCEES LS exam.
  • Minimum 4 years of PLS experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents with excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to understand calculations, alignments, and instructions for field work.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD C3D software functionality to prepare survey plats and exhibits.
  • Must maintain thorough understanding of IMEG survey equipment, survey practices, and survey software programs including GPS surveying practices.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, officials, contractors, and others.
  • Self-motivated with good time management.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier.
