Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team at Andrew Pickett Law, PLLC. In this role, you will provide essential support to our attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, ensuring a smooth process from pre-trial preparations to post-trial activities.

Compensation: Starting salary of $55,000

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, and complaints.
  • Manage electronic filing of court documents in both state and federal jurisdictions.
  • Effectively oversee client care to enhance case value.
  • Maintain communication with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other relevant parties.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and factual investigations.
  • Prepare discovery materials, including interrogatories and responses.
  • Summarize and coordinate depositions.
  • Assemble trial binders and exhibits for court proceedings.
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, and appellate documents with the court.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling hearings and managing case files.
  • Keep organized indexes of pleadings and discovery materials.
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, and related materials.
  • Assist attorneys with discovery requests and interrogatories.
  • Gather pertinent information from various sources.
  • Act as a liaison between trial teams and external parties.
  • Prepare witnesses for trial.
  • Support case settlement processes.
Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated capability to follow through on tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Professional demeanor with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
Education and Experience:

Required:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in litigation.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Personal Injury or related legal fields.
  • Strong drafting and writing capabilities.
  • Familiarity with legal principles relevant to the firm's practice areas.
  • Knowledge of motions, discovery processes, and court procedures.
  • Experience with electronic filing systems.
  • Proficient in technology and legal software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
