As a Helicopter Pilot with Air Methods, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. This role requires a high level of expertise and attention to detail, with a focus on compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and Air Methods' policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Air Methods Aircraft Safely: Ensure that all aircraft are airworthy and that all pre-flight checks are completed before each flight.
- Comply with Regulations and Policies: Maintain thorough knowledge of FAR, AIM, and Air Methods' policies and procedures to ensure compliance and safety.
- Lead the Flight Crew: As the final authority on aircraft operations, you will be responsible for the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.
- Conduct Flight Planning: Create detailed flight plans with little notice to exacting standards.
- Participate in Air Methods Meetings and Activities: Regularly participate in meetings, activities, and community outreach programs.
- Education and Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience and/or training.
- Skills and Certifications: Commercial and Instrument Rating, ATP rating, First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate, and a minimum of 2000 total flight hours with 1500 hours in category.
