Cyber Security Professional for Advanced Threat Mitigation

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Technician to join our team at Spektrum, supporting the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) in Norfolk, VA, USA.
This is a challenging role that requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a high-performance team.
About the RoleThis Cyber Security position involves providing advanced threat mitigation services to ensure the security and effectiveness of NATO's communication networks and information systems. You will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating potential cyber threats, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in implementing and maintaining cyber security systems within a large organization. They will also possess a good understanding of cyber security systems and the ability to work independently to solve complex problems.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour key responsibilities will include:
- Applying and maintaining specific security measures as required by organisational policy and local risk assessments.
- Contributing to the identification of risks that arise from potential technical solution architectures.
- Suggesting alternate solutions or countermeasures to mitigate risks.
- Defining secure systems configurations in compliance with intended architectures.
- Supporting investigation of suspected attacks and security breaches.
You will also be responsible for:
- Following standard approaches for the technical assessment of information systems against information assurance policies and business objectives.
- Making routine accreditation decisions.
- Recognising decisions that are beyond your scope and responsibility level and escalating accordingly.
- Reviews and performs risk assessments and risk treatment plans.
- Identifies typical risk indicators and explains prevention measures.
- Maintains integrity of records to support and justify decisions.
In addition, you will carry out routine operational procedures, including the execution of specified automation tools/scripts, contribute to maintenance and installation, monitor and report on infrastructure performance, resolve issues or refer to others for assistance.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least 4 years practical experience of implementation and maintenance of cyber security systems within a large organisation.
- Working experience administrating and monitoring cyber security software.
- Good understanding of cyber security systems and the ability to work independently to solve problems.
- Working experience troubleshooting technical issues and providing technical support to end-users.
Possession of a security professional certification (CEH, GIAC, ISC2, or other relevant certification) is desirable.
